The typing test evaluates candidates on their ability to type quickly and accurately on a computer keyboard.

• For English Typists: You must achieve a speed of 35 WPM. This is equal to making 10,500 KDPH (Key Depressions Per Hour).
• For Hindi Typists: You must achieve a speed of 30 WPM. This is equivalent to making 9,000 KDPH.
• Time Limit: You will be given exactly 10 minutes to type the provided passage.
• Word Calculation: In AIIMS CRE, 5 keystrokes (including space and punctuation) constitute one word.

The testing interface is usually a split-screen software where the passage is displayed on the top half, and you type in the bottom half.

• Hindi Font: Unicode Mangal Font is mandatory for the Hindi typing test.
