The Indian Army recruits candidates under the Agniveer scheme for clerical roles like Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and Store Keeper Technical (SKT). A crucial phase of this recruitment is the typing skill test.
This test checks your data entry speed and accuracy, which are essential for army administrative duties.
1. Agniveer Speed Requirements
The typing test evaluates candidates strictly on speed and correctness:
- English Typing: A minimum speed of 35 Words Per Minute (WPM) on the computer.
- Hindi Typing: A minimum speed of 30 Words Per Minute (WPM) on the computer.
- Duration: 10 Minutes.
- Key Depressions: 35 WPM equates to 10,500 KDPH, and 30 WPM equates to 9,000 KDPH. 5 keystrokes are counted as 1 word.
2. Keyboard and Software Details
- Language: You can choose either English or Hindi during the application process.
- Hindi Layout: Candidates taking the Hindi test must use the Mangal Font. Typically, the Remington Gail layout is provided, but it is best to be familiar with Inscript as well.
- English Layout: Standard QWERTY keyboard.
3. Test Interface and Rules
- Backspace: Backspace is allowed and functional during the test.
- Display: The source text is displayed on the computer screen. You must replicate it in the typing area below.
- Errors: Ensure that you use correct capitalization and punctuation. Omission of words or lines will lead to heavy penalties.
