If you are applying for the Head Constable Ministerial (HCM) position across any CAPF (BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB), the typing test is a critical hurdle.
1. The 35 WPM Rule
- English Speed Requirement: 35 Words Per Minute (WPM) (10,500 KDPH).
- Hindi Speed Requirement: 30 Words Per Minute (WPM) (9,000 KDPH).
- Duration: The test is conducted for 10 minutes.
2. Backspace and Software Interface
- Backspace Permitted: Yes, you can use backspace.
- Printed Material: Often, CAPFs provide a printed paper sheet to type from rather than on-screen text.
3. Accuracy is Key
- Error Tolerance: Accuracy must be maintained above 95%. 5% mistakes are usually ignored, but beyond that, a penalty is applied (e.g., 10 words deducted for every extra mistake).
